Last Sunday, Hopkins participated in one of the HOPE’s major annual volunteer events – the Seniors Day 2017. Though the opening ceremony was canceled because of the rain, it could not stop our enthusiasm to visit the elderly and to deliver them the lucky bags. The lucky bags are full of daily necessities, and a handmade scarf from Granny Tsang who had knitted over 700 scarves for this event.
Our volunteer team visited granny Chan and granny Lau in Sha Kok Estate. They were very happy to see us on our visits to their home. They had no reservations in sharing us their life stories. During the one hour conversation with each of them, we also learned their daily schedule, habits and health conditions. We made a record and provided the information to Hope for the arrangement of the follow-up services in the future.
Hopkins wishes granny Chan, granny Lau and all the seniors a Happy Lunar New Year! May everyone bring hope, love and joy to the seniors!
